Erectile Dysfunction & Peyronie’s Disease
ED DESCRIPTOR: Erectile Dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence, is when the penis fails to become erect or stay firm during sex. It’s not uncommon for most men to experience ED at some point in their life, but it’s no place for concern unless the occurrence is frequent. However, the common occurrence of ED is likely to negatively impact your confidence and the health of your sex life. There are numerous reasons one may develop erectile dysfunction, such as low testosterone and trauma to the pubic region.
Peyronie’s Disease descriptor: Peyronie’s disease is a condition where men have a fibrous build up of scar tissue of the penis, causing it to curve, bend and shrink. This leads to erectile dysfunction in most and is a disease that progresses and worsens overtime but it will typically stop worsening within one year of onset. It’s also quite painful and though this may dissipate for some men after one to two years, the curvature and shortening are typically retained. Early treatment is the key to minimizing deformities and pain.
